A heartbreaking incident was reported from the Godavari River in Sithanagaram mandal, near Bobbillanka village, East Godavari district, where a teenage boy went missing after being swept away by strong river currents during a casual river visit.
According to initial information, the boy had gone to the river along with a group of friends during the afternoon hours. What began as a normal outing quickly turned tragic when the group entered the water for bathing and recreation. Locals say the river appeared calm on the surface, but beneath it, powerful underwater currents and sudden depth variations made the area extremely dangerous.
Witnesses reported that the boy lost his balance while moving deeper into the river and was immediately pulled into a fast-flowing current. Despite attempts by nearby friends and local fishermen to rescue him, the strong water flow made it impossible to reach him in time.
